General Mental Health Counseling

Psychosexual/Risk Evaluations

Psychosexual assessments evaluate a person’s sexual beliefs, interests, and behaviors to identify potential risk for future inappropriate or harmful sexual actions. The evaluation can help guide treatment targets, treatment progress, placement options, and risk to the community. They can also guide safety planning.

What a psychosexual does not do: Determine guilt or innocence, determine whether someone has been sexually abused, determine whether someone will become an offender, or determine sexual identity or orientation.
